Fall Florals & Affordable Fashion

Dress | Booties | Handbag | Sunglasses

I have been so excited to share this look with you all. Not only is this the most perfect fall dress but it’s also incredibly affordable – under $50! I have to give all credit to my sister who found this dress at Old Navy. If you haven’t shopped at Old Navy in a while I highly recommend giving it a shot. They truthfully have some really cute stuff at a great price point. While I’m on the subject of affordable fashion, I wanted to share a few of my other favorite stores and tips for shopping on a budget.

J.Crew Factory:

This one is a given. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without out J.Crew Factory. This is such a great place to start building your work wardrobe on a tight budget. They have a really good mix of work basics and fun trendier pieces that an be worn on the weekend including awesome jewelry. This is a great place for versatile pieces that don’t break the bank.

Best for: Business casual, blazers, winter coats, tops, casual dresses, Jewelry, fun weekend wear

Tip: Sign up for their newsletter to keep an eye on when they’re running promotions.

Banana Republic Factory:

Most people know about J.Crew’s factory store however many don’t know that Banana Republic has one as well. They just started opening a few here in Chicago which I’m really excited about. If J.Crew is too preppy for you or not sophisticated enough for your work environment Banana Republic Factory is also really great for low price work clothes. Saving $$ on work clothes means more money for fun clothes. I will say the stores can get pretty picked over so I would suggest shopping online if you’re not having great luck at the store.

Best for: Business professional, work pants, blazers, basics, sophisticated dresses

Tip: Go to your nearest Banana Republic store or Factory store and try on a couple different pairs of pants, tops and dresses and keep track of the styles and what size you are. Then shop online you’ll have a much wider selection!

Saks Off 5th:

This is probably my favorite of all the high end outlets. I’ve always had really great luck with just about everything from work out wear to cocktail dresses. Their items are not necessarily cheap but you can find some REALLY great deals on designer clothes and accessories. I also feel like their stores are much cleaner and easier to shop than places like Nordstrom Rack. The key to finding good deals at places like this is to browse often. There is an Off Saks that shares a parking garage with my grocery store so I always stop in every once in a while to check things out- super dangerous but I’ve found some really great deals. If you don’t have one near you, you can shop online as well.

Best for: Shoes, Handbags, Sunglasses, Cocktail Dresses, Designer Denim

Tip:  The key to these stores is to check in often. They’re always getting new shipments in so its worth it to take a look even if you’re not in the market for something new. You could find something you love and if you love it you’ll find an excuse to wear it.

ZARA: (TRF)

Although I feel like some of their stuff has gotten a little too trendy for me, I still find some really cute things at Zara. This is a place you have to be pretty patient with – because their stores are always packed and sometimes kind of a mess but its worth it if you have the patience for it. Every time I go to Zara with Ryan he has to leave the store because he gets overwhelmed lol. Unfortunately, this is a brand that I don’t love shopping online. Their sizing can be tricky and I don’t love the way they style their pieces. If I’m going to shop at Zara it’s the first place I start and I don’t try to shop there If I’m not in the mood. If you’re really trying to stick to a budget start with their TRF or Zara Basics collection those are where you’ll find the best price points.

Best for: Trendy pieces, embellished or embroidered pieces, great sweaters, work to weekend wear, jackets

Tip: Their TRF collection is great for really trendy pieces you know you’ll only wear once and don’t want to invest in. Also a place to stop in and shop often – they are the definition of fast fashion. Chances are if something starts trending on Monday they’ll have it in store by Friday and it will be out of stock by Sunday.
