Last week when I went home for the 4th of July, I was greeted by the most beautiful sunset. I couldn’t resist taking advantage of how amazing the golden hour light looks in the suburbs. As cheesy as it sounds, it felt a little poetic pulling up to my parents house during the golden hour to kick off one of my favorite weeks of the year.
Social media has turned the golden hour into a bit of a cliche, but I think there is a much deeper reason behind why everyone so smitten with this mystical moment. For me it goes far beyond the beautiful lighting that provides endless picture-perfect moments. Many of my most vivid and loved childhood memories occurred during this bittersweet hour when the sun begins to set, the day’s adventures come to a close and everyone gathers at home for the night. Now that I’m older, it’s extra special when I get to experience this time of day at my parents house in the suburbs.

This dress is one of my new favorites because it is so versatile. I saw it on another blogger and bought it immediately. It can be worn to work, for travel, to run errands or you can dress it up for a date night. It’s incredibly comfortable and super roomy as well. I also think this dress will look adorable in the fall with a pair of OTK boots or a fur vest. The best part is that it is currently on sale for less than $80. Its available at Nordstrom so be sure to add it to your cart while shopping the Anniversary sale tomorrow!
