Last week Ryan and I celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary! While we weren’t able to celebrate the way we would have pre-covid, we still had the most beautiful night and an incredibly delicious dinner thanks to One Life Kitchen, a hands on cooking & dining experience in the NW suburbs of Chicago. While they don’t typically host for two, they treated us to their learn & feast dinner experience. I wanted to share a little more about our evening for anyone who is local to Chicago and looking for a fun way to celebrate upcoming special occasions or celebrations that were missed due to COVID.
When we arrived we were greeted with champagne and a beautiful charcuterie board that we munched on while getting a little rundown of what was on the menu from our chef for the night. To make things a little more fun and interactive, we were in charge of making dessert while the chef too care of the rest. The owner, Lauren, taught us how to make the most scrumptious chocolate mousse the best part is that it was surprisingly really easy to make! While our dessert chilled, we sat with the chef and he taught us a little bit about what he was cooking and how he prepared everything. He put the finishing touches on our meal while we got started on a bottle of whine at the beautiful table that was set for us, pictured above. I also shared a photo of how our amazing dessert turned out. Everything was incredibly delicious and it was so nice to have something a little more special than your typical sit down dinner while still getting to enjoy some relaxing time together.
One Life Kitchen’s private learn & feast dining experience is formatted to suit groups of 10 or more people making it perfect for everything from birthdays to bridal showers. It also makes for a really great gift for hard to buy for parents. Treat them to a fun family night at One Life Kitchen! I love their learn and feast dinner as opposed to a traditional cooking class because it’s the perfect balance between a hands on cooking experience and spending time catching up with friends over drinks and a meal. They also have quite a few additional event options and cooking classes that I recommend checking out as well!
