The past few mornings I’ve woken up to birds chirping, which is one of the first signs of spring here in Chicago. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear that especially when followed by big rays of sunshine peeping through the shades. As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve had a pretty bad case of the winter blues these past few weeks and this weekend gave me hope that spring is just around the corner. Ryan and I actually did someย early spring cleaning this weekend and it felt so good to get organized and made our Sunday a lot less scary.
For those of you who don’t know I’ve been slowly moving my stuff over to Ryans which as been good and bad. Its really frustrating to have have everything in one place but also kind of nice to have less “stuff”. This weekend I moved over another load of clothes over which included a lot of my spring pieces, which got me excited the warmer temps were expecting this week. I’m most excited to ditch my tights and start wearing skirts and dresses with OTK boots again, like this look!
For this outfit I pulled one of my favorite pieces from my winter wardrobe, my suede jacket, and one of my favorite pieces from my spring wardrobe, this burnt orange chiffon skirt, to create my idea winter-spring transitional look. I love chiffon skirts for the spring season because they pair so well with pretty floral prints but since its still a little too early for florals, I paired it with a heavier suede jacket to keep it a little more on the wintery side and ties in the OTK boots, which are on major sale btw!! The white tank I’m wearing and linked above is probably one of my top 5 closet staples. I just got it a few weeks ago and can’t believe I didn’t own something like this sooner! It is the perfect layer for under any kind of jacket, blazer, sweater, etc and you can wear it to the office, out to a bar, to a nice restaurant. Its also something that you can will wear every season.
Although, I know there are still some chilly days ahead, but I’m definitely going to be taking advantage of every spring-like day that comes our way with a skirt or dress and my favorite spring color palettes. What spring styles are you excited to start wearing agin?!
