Sweater season has arrived and for those of you who live in Chicago or anywhere near by, you can NEVER have enough sweaters. I feel like there are quite a few new standout sweater trends for this fall and winter season so I wanted to do a round up of the six styles to stock up on. I’ve linked all the sweaters in the image above along with a bunch of other favorites below.
1. Tie Sleeve Sweaters
The tie sleeve sweater trend adds a little something extra to your classic crew neck. I’ve seen this trend incorporated into every kind of crew neck from dreamy cashmere to comfy cotton making it one you can try for the office, date night or weekend wear. I love this style paired with a printed skirt and the best part about it is that each sleeve is tied off with a bow – my all time favorite embellishment.
2.Cable Knit Sweater Dress
The cable knit sweater is being taken to new lengths. The sweater dress is a staple piece for this season. I LOVE this look with over the knee boots and a blanket scarf. This cozy look is perfect for the pumpkin patch or a girls night
3.Belted Cardigan
I’m always freezing at work so I can never have enough sweaters and jackets to wear around the office. Structured, belted cardigans and sweater blazers are big this season. I’ve seen this look everywhere from Club Monaco, J.Crew and Loft to H&M which makes it available at every price point! Although its a perfect piece for your work wardrobe a belted cardigan is also a great option if you’re looking for smart casual pieces to wear on the weekends when you don’t want look like you just rolled out of bed but still want to be comfortable.
4.Off the Shoulder
The off the should look isn’t going anywhere! Off the shoulder sweaters are big again this season and I’m loving it. I think this is the perfect date night sweater that goes with everything from a pair of flair jeans and pumps, a skirt or skinny jeans and booties. So many brands are carrying this style in their own unique version to fit everyone’s taste.
5.Fuzzy/Eyelash sweater
Talk about a blast from the past. I was obsessed with these fuzzy eyelash sweaters circa 1999 and honestly couldn’t be more excited that they’re making a comeback. This material is SO SOFT and cozy. I love this fabric in a cocoon style cardigan like the one above and recently purchased a blush pink off the shoulder version as well.
6.Wide cuff sleeve sweater
Wide cuff and flair sleeve sweaters are THE sweater of this season. I’ve seen these oversize sleeves featured with a variety of necklines from crew neck and v-neck to turtlenecks and and even cardigans. This style is essential to any fall/winter wardrobe because it can be paired with just about anything from a pencil skirt to a pair of jeans or even joggers for an ultra casual and comfy look.
What is your go to sweater style for this fall/winter season?
