This sweatshirt blouse has been on my wish list for the longest time so I’m really excited that I finally got it so that I can share it with you all! The bodice is a sweatshirt-like material making it incredibly comfortable and the oversized chiffon sleeves and peplum dress it up just enough for a casual, chic date night look. It goes great with jeans and looks equally adorable with a skirt. The best part is that the neutral grey and white color goes with absolutely everything!
Since this look is so perfect for date night I thought I’d update you all on some of Ryan and I’s favorite spots for date night in the city! I shared several of our go tos in this post in August, but since then we’ve tried a ton of new spots that we loved.
El Che Bar: I think I could write an entire blog post about this restaurant but I’ll try to summarize our experience the best I can. Last weekend Ryan and I ate at the Chefs Table at El Che Bar (if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw my mouthwatering instastories). It was hands down one of the most incredible meals I’ve ever had. Chef John Manion is basically your private chef for the night who personally creates and cooks a 5 course meal. None of the items that he cooked for us were actual menu items which was also pretty cool. He did everything from cooking them to delivering them to us and explained each dish. We had such an amazing time talking with him about each dish, how he came up with the different ingredient combinations and where he learned his different techniques. We also purchased the wine pairing package which was just as amazing. All of the wines were incredibly unique and paired perfectly with each dish down to the desserts. The chefs table is definitely pricey but if you’re a foodie (and love steak) its absolutely worth it for a special occasion. If you’re not willing to break the bank on one dinner, I can confidently say that ordering off their menu would be just as fantastic.
Mott Street: This is an Asian fusion restaurant with a really fun, casual vibe. Ryan and I went here a while ago but we have been dying to go back. I honestly can’t remember one thing that we ate but I do remember it was all amazing and incredibly unique. I’m hoping we can go back soon and I’ll be sure to report on some of the must have items.
Le Colonial: We’ve only eaten here once but the ambiance is to die for and the food is even better. The space immediately transports you to a dimly lit colonial home filled with tropical plants. The menu features French Vietnamese dishes that are all approachable yet incredibly unique. They also have really great cocktails! As I mentioned, we’ve only eaten at the restaurant once however we order takeout from Le Colonial through UberEats about every other week, in fact we had it for dinner last night! ๐ Its is by far the best takeout I’ve ever had!
The Cherry Circle Room: This is located in the Chicago Athletic Association hotel so I’m sure you can already guess that its pretty amazing. We actually have never had a full meal here but have stopped in for drinks several times and usually order an appetizer or two. Everything we’ve ordered, including our drinks have been fantastic! We love the amber ambiance especially for the winter months. We also love that we can stop for a drink at Cindy’s before or after!
Beatrix: Ryan and I are trying to start the new year off eating healthier and we all know thats not easy to do when eating out. We discovered Beatrix and a great option for when we want to eat healthy but feel like going out. They have tons of clean eating options and I feel like their portion sizes are perfect.
Although I’m writing this as a Date Night post, all these places are great for any occasion whether it be girls night or dinner with your parents! I promise they won’t disappoint!
