I thought I would share a little bit about the not so glam side of my family’s recent trip to Canada. We had a direct flight on WestJet from Chicago to Calgary which was only a 3 ½ hour trip. Seems pretty easy right?! Well it ended up that WestJet “lost” all of our luggage on the way to Calgary. The suitcases were MIA for over THREE days and WestJet was so unaccommodating and unhelpful.
The funny part is that I decided to pack in a carry on so I was the only one who had ALL of my stuff except my toiletries. I’m notorious for over packing so it was pretty hilarious that this was the ONE time I manage to squeeze (almost) everything into one carry on. I felt so so bad for the rest of my family but luckily my sisters, mom and I are all pretty close in size so I got to dress them up in my clothes for three days!
Anyways, what I learned from this trip was to avoid checking bags if you can or pack a change of clothes or two along with any important items in a carry on! I thought this would be a good chance to share my new favorite carry on tote, the Landon Carryall by Dagne Dover. I originally bought this as a gym bag but I’ve actually only used it as that two or three times. Haha..typical. I’ve found that it’s an amazing carry on or overnight bag though.
The material it’s made out of is super light weight (kind of reminds me of a wet suit but higher quality) so I can shove a ton of stuff in there and it doesn’t ever feel super heavy. The inside is so spacious with tons of pockets on the sides for all the little things like headphones, chargers, lipstick, etc. There’s event a pocket made to fit a 15” laptop. I love the chunky zipper detail and the wide handles make it really comfortable on your shoulder when carrying. I of course had to get the pink but it also comes in olive green, navy and black.
The top of the bag buttons down on the sides to make it more compact if you don’t have as much stuff in there but opens up if you really want to maximize space. I have the medium size which is perfect for me but the bag also comes in a small which I would imagine to be a great diaper bag or every day work bag and a large size which would be great as a weekender.
If you haven’t heard of this brand I highly recommend checking them out. They have tons of other really beautifully crafted bags that I’ve got my eye on you can check those out here!
