Since becoming a mom I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about healthy habits that I can work into my new routine. Whether you’re a mom or not these are healthy habits that everyone can work on so I thought I’d share a little bit about how I’m focusing on each one!
Quality over Quantity Workouts: I used to be a big runner but with Max I’m not able to get out for a run too often anymore so instead I’ve been focusing on shorter high quality workouts that I can do from home. I’ve actually seen much better results than when I used to run for an hour each day. I’ve been loving the Sweat app and just started BBG 2.0. When it’s not freezing out I take max and sully for a long walk which is so therapeutic for me and great exercise!
Drink More Water: Ok so who isn’t trying to up their h20 intake?! I feel like this is something everyone is always trying to get better at including myself! I have been working on it for years. I’ve tried so many different things and the only thing that works relatively well for me is having something that will hold me accountable. I love this water bottle because I only have to fill it up once throughout the day and it keeps me on track even if I’m usually playing catch up!
Be Intentional With Free Time: Free time is rare these days and sometimes when it comes along I just don’t know what to do with myself and I end up scrolling on my phone. I gave myself some grace with to do lists for the first few months after Max was born but now I plan to focus on time blocking my day so I can be more intentional with what I do with my free time. I love the Todoist App for keeping track of my to dos.
Get lost in a Good Book: I’d like to replace some of my scrolling time with reading. I did a lot of reading last year (before Max was born) and also listened to some books on tape during my walks. I truly feel happier when I’m hooked on a good book! If you’re hoping to read more this year, my friend @beachreadsandbubbly has so many fun recommendations I’m excited to check out.
