Discovering artists and finding new pieces for our home is something Ryan and I have always loved doing together. Over the years we’ve curated a collection of art that has helped to make our house a home. Any time we visit somewhere new we make a point to check out a few local galleries in search of a piece to bring home with us. During the summer months, we’ve filled Saturdays and Sundays visiting art fairs around the Chicagoland area and we’re always sharing new artists we find on instagram with each other. I wanted to share a few of the people and places we’ve found our favorite art through.
Charleston is home to many of my favorite artists and galleries. When Ryan and I first visited several years ago we discovered La Prince Fine Art and purchased a painting of one of Charleston’s stunning sunsets. This piece is such a special reminder of one of our favorite places and one of my favorite trips we’ve taken together. When in search of new art or artists I often check their website
I have yet to purchase a piece from this gallery but they feature so many incredible artists that I have my eye on. Currently we’re on the hunt for something for our dining area and I’m hoping I can find something from this gallery. I haven’t visited in person but would love to on our next trip to Dallas!
My interior designer, Kdecor Design, introduced us to Mackenzie Dove’s incredibly unique work when in search of something to fill a large wall in our living room. We had these paper pieces framed in oversized black frames that made each piece pop. One thing we’ve learned over they years is that framing can make a huge impact.
Raven is one of our absolute favorite artists. We own three of her pieces and they bring so much joy into our home. I love her use of bright colors and always love her take on some of my favorite subject matters flowers and birds. Ryan and I both are always on the look out for her next collection release.
I discovered Barrett on Instagram and fell in love with her botanicals collection. I wasn’t able to snag one from her original release but commissioned two botanical pieces that perfectly complimented our entryway tables. She has a new collection in the works that I’m very excited to see!
For my Chicago friends (or anyone planning to visit Chicago this summer), you can find an art festival in the Chicagoland area almost every weekend during the summer months. While our trips to these art festivals haven’t always been very successful, we have found a few pieces we loved and brought home like the two below!
I love One Kings Lane for browsing a variety of art styles and finding pieces at a more reasonable price point. We’ve purchased both our Slim Aarons prints from One Kings Lane along with some fun artwork for the kids rooms and around the house.
