First of all, how perfect is this dress for Valentine’s Day Date Night!?! When I saw it a few months ago the first thing I thought was that it looked like the prettiest Valentine in the form of a dress, bow and all! I just couldn’t resist and am so excited to wear it next week for Valentine’s Day date night with Ryan. I’ve linked a ton of pink and red styles I’m loving for Valentine’s Day below!
Ryan and I have reservations at a restaurant in Chicago called Booth One. It’s used to be called the Elbow room, featuring a very famous booth named “Booth One”, which happens to be the exact restaurant and booth where my parents got engaged 30 years ago this August. I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate our first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple. We will probably follow dinner with some Jenni’s black cat espresso ice cream and a game of scrabble or rummikub by the fire at home.
As much as I love Valentine’s Day because its an excuse to get dressed up, go to a fancy dinner, eat lots of heart shaped chocolate, and throw a Galentine’s day party with my best friends, it means a lot more to me than that. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful examples and sources of love in my life and this year more than ever I feel so blessed to know that I’ve found the person that I will celebrate this day with for the rest of my life. I think Valentine’s Day comes at the perfect time of year when everyone is starting to feel the winter blues and needs a little pick me up. So, even if you haven’t found your forever Valentine yet take this time to celebrate and acknowledge the special people in your life because everyone could always use a little extra love.
