Poncho | Jeans | Boots | Bag | Earrings

Today’s look is a little nostalgic for me. I received the poncho I’m wearing from my mom this Christmas and the first thing that came to mind when I opened it was a similar pink and green striped poncho that I received for Christmas from my mom when I was in 6th grade. I remember wanting one so badly and when I got it was I was ecstatic but also a little nervous. Back in the day this was a pretty big fashion statement, especially for a 6th grader. I was pretty shy growing up so naturally I avoided anything that would draw extra attention to me. I decided to wear it anyways because I knew my mom was so excited to have found the poncho of my dreams.

I can still picture myself walking through the halls of my middle school wearing that poncho thinking everyone was staring at me. Thankfully I made it through the day without getting teased. It ended up being one of the first moments I  started to develop my own personal style and not care about wearing what was “cool” or what everyone else was wearing.
